complete beginner - want to make a point and click adventure game!

Question

Hello!

Recently, I've developed a fascination with point-and-click adventure games from the late 80s and early 90s, specifically Sierra games. I'm obsessed with one series in particular, and want to make a fan-sequel. I've already started writing, plotting, trying to design puzzles, and drawing concept art. However, the issue comes with the "making the actual game" part of it all, since i have NO code experence. This is a wild passion project that I want to take on, and I have no idea where to start my journey in amateur gamedev

Which engine should I use to make this game? (and: Where to start when learning it, if any of you have experience with what you're suggesting)

Specifics on what I want out of the engine: I want the game to be 2D, point-and-click. I'm currently debating between two graphical styles: Pixelated 256-color graphics alike to the VGA era, or full resolution digital art (full res digital art is more my wheelhouse). Additionally, while I have zero coding experience, I am willing to learn! Unfortunately I am a busy person and don't have mass amounts of time to pour into learning code, which is why I'm looking for something beginner friendly. (Note: I won't use genAI, please no one suggest I use ChatGPT to help code.)

TL;DR: I am a total coding noob who wants to basically make a Sierra fangame. Whats the best engine for a beginner to start using for point-and-click?
