Learned about this disorder early high school and didn’t think about it again until just now (age 26). Think I’m going to see a doctor soon.
I see a therapist. After a few months, we had both decided I was just your average case of social anxiety/depression with the occasional stress-induced psychosis. But lately it hasn’t felt right. My lifelong magical thinking and paranoia made me unsure.
Tonight’s realization was a fluke. I have a family history of schizophrenia and wanted to google schizoid — I’ve considered this many times, but it’s never felt quite right. I didn’t type it into my search bar expecting any different. I mindlessly typed in schizotypal instead. I forgot this disorder existed and I have no idea how. Everything I read about it fits my personality like a goddamn well-tailored glove. Everything makes so much sense. I hope this means I can finally stop worrying and start learning about what I can do to help myself. Weeeeee!!!!
