Is it possible to default to regular cruise control

Ive got a WRX with eyesight and im not a fan of adaptive cruise control to the point that i never use it. I know i can hold the following distance buttons to switch to conventional, but since i only ever use conventional is there a way to default it to that and hitting the buttons switches to adaptive? Just for the convenience of not having to do it every single time i want to use cruise control. I didnt see anything in the eyesight manual about changing the default setting so i expect that its not possible unfortunately
