This guy won’t leave me alone

I’m in college and I met a guy in class this semester, and he won’t leave me alone. At first it was just talking and then it became studying together, it seemed like he wanted more but never specifically said this. I’m a straight A student with three majors so I have to make sure I focus on what is important and he wasn’t letting me do that. Additionally, I’d catch him just staring at me in class if I didn’t sit right next to him and if I did sit next to him he would poke me with a pencil or draw on my notes. I’ve even tried to cut down on instagram time because he would comment on how late I was up on instagram like he was watching it. He also makes me uncomfortable through some physical contact (this isn’t all of it but he would sit so close I didn’t have space)and always complimenting me. He also keeps asking me what he could do that would make me really mad, which seems like he is trying to figure out how far he can push things. It is like he doesn’t fully respect boundaries I’ve tried setting. We have class for a few more weeks and he keeps texting me and trying to get me to call him I don’t know what to do. I’ve tried avoiding him, dry texting, making excuses, and responding super late but nothing has worked. I also don’t want to completely ghost him in case I see him around and I don’t want to hurt his feelings because most of the time it seems like he has good intentions. Can someone please give me advice?
