First SAG Callback in LA!

I've read the FAQ & Rules

I never celebrate my wins and am trying to change that. I’m very big on “audition and forget” so this one really shocked me today.

I was working steadily in the non-union space prior to Covid on the East Coast (mix of regional theatre and commercial stuff, short films), and did some background work that made me SAG-E. I had my first bigger commercial booking right before everything shut down and have been struggling to find my way back since.

I ended up moving to LA in 2019, could not get an agent to save my life (like sent out an embarrassing amount of emails lol). Tried again at the beginning of this year after taking a break and got signed in March through Talent Link/Actors Access. I’ve had around 30 auditions through my agency and this is my first callback!

I just wanted to share because I was like, very close to throwing in the towel on a number of occasions (I’ve been at it since 2013 and things have been particularly rocky lately) and this gave me that little bit of hope and motivation to keep pushing forward that I really really needed.

I have a zoom session tomorrow and don’t really have any clue what to expect as that wasn’t really a thing when I was auditioning before, but am looking forward to actually getting to be directed again and learn!

Don’t give up! 🩷
