Why do we see so many road accidents every day in India?
Almost every day, we hear about 4–5 major road accidents somewhere in the country. People lose their lives, and yet as a society we seem to treat it almost casually.
I'm trying to understand the root causes behind this. Is it mainly because:
-
Driving licences are issued without proper testing?
-
Traffic violations don’t attract strict penalties or enforcement?
Or are there deeper systemic issue like road design, poor public transport, lack of awareness, or general driving culture?
