Eczema Q&A: Eczema one hand only
Question:
https: //imgur. com/a/sUEKv6WHas any one dealt with this or similar before? Ever since I moved to the PNW 7 years ago, my left hand has flared up from time to time with liquid filled blisters under skin and within the last year or two it’s been affecting my fingernails as well. I’m hoping to get it identified but no luck so far. The back patch test said I have a nickel allergy but that’s it. Are there certain types of tests/examinations I should be asking for?
Answer:
Hey there! Sounds like you’re going through a tough time with the eczema on your left hand. It’s really interesting how it started after you moved and seems pretty persistent.
Sometimes, these physical symptoms can connect to unresolved stress or conflicts in our lives. When your mind identifies a conflict that doesn’t get resolved, your body might react in surprising ways, like how your hand is only affected.
For you, maybe the move to the PNW involved changes or stressors. Sometimes our skin reacts to boundaries being crossed or feeling vulnerable. It’s fascinating how our emotions and skin can be weirdly more connected than we know.
Here are a few questions to think about:
-
Was there a situation around the time of your move that felt ‘sticky’ or unresolved?
-
Do you ever feel like you’re grasping or holding onto something on a deeper level?
-
Is there any unspoken tension in your personal or work life since moving?
-
Could there be any metaphorical 'irritants' in your life that you haven’t addressed?
-
Do you notice any patterns in your life when the flare-ups get worse?
Hopefully, these questions offer a new perspective on managing your symptoms. Feel free to ask more questions if you’re curious!
