At the TIFF Midnight Madness screening, I got the chance to chat with Curry Barker about his new film OBSESSION , what he describes as a slower-burning more character-driven horror than Milk & Serial that just dropped its first teaser trailer and is already being called one of 2026’s standout horror genre releases. The film, starring Michael Johnston and Inde Navarrette, already has a 97% on Rotten Tomatoes.

In this quick red-carpet moment, he shares how the film builds tension and reveals his all-time favourite horror movie.

OBSESSION hits theatres May 2026.
