Greed is the root of all evil. I’m only 19 years old, and I am 6 grand down from gambling. I never thought I would be in this type of situation where I’m down this much money, regretting all the terrible decisions that I ever made gambling. On October 22, I hit a max win on Sweet Bonanza Sugar Rush for 10k. I couldn’t believe the amount of money that I won; I was hyped just like anyone else would be after winning that much money. I didn’t withdraw it right away. Fast forward a couple of days, and I won 12k on Sweet Bonanza Super Scatter. I won 22k in just a couple of days. The right move that anyone with a brain would do would be to withdraw all of it and never gamble again. I was just hooked, and seeing the amount of money I was winning, I thought about what could come next. I kept playing for hours, and it didn’t turn out how I wanted it to. I was taking bigger risks, and I was losing a bit, thinking that I would eventually get paid out. I ended up losing it all in just a few hours. Watching the balance go from over 20k to pretty much 0, it felt like my heart dropped to the floor. I couldn’t tell you what went through my mind, gambling all that money away. I don’t even know what the f\*ck I was doing. The worst part about all of this is that I continued to gamble. I wanted to chase my losses, as any degenerate gambling addict would do. It only took a week before I rinsed my bank account. Thousands of dollars that I worked months for, I managed to lose within a week. I’m beyond disgusted with what I’ve done to myself. This kind of money could change some people’s lives, while I decided to gamble it away. There are so many things I could’ve used this money for, while I just blew it all away like it was pennies. The lack of funds that I have now is what forced me to stop gambling. I have about 2k of credit card debt since then, and I have no idea how I will be able to pay it off by the end of this month, having only hundreds in my bank account. I don’t know what I’m going to do. Just as I thought I could end my 2025 on a good note, I completely made it worse for myself. It will definitely take a while to recover from this and make back what I’ve lost, as it has put a huge dent in both my wealth and well-being. I never thought I’d become this kind of degenerate at such a young age, but this is a great life lesson that I have learned, especially at this age. The moral of the story is to get out while you can before you lose it all.
