80% vs 90%—Does it matter?

Is charging to 90% through winter meaningfully harmful to the battery?

I normally charge to 80%, which has been plenty. But this is my first Chicago winter and with the cold/snow I’d like extra buffer, so I’m considering setting my daily charge to 90%. I know Tesla recommends 80%, and every time I enter 90% it warns me.

If the impact is minimal, I’d prefer to keep it at 90% for the season.
