IC10: How do you record all RefIDs on a circuit?

Not really a coder, vaguely plain language please.

Playing brutal vulcan after the terrain update, and it seems that there have been changes to refIDs in IC10. It also seems like the IDs given from the tablet are not the same ones IC10 needs(incorrect variable/Device not found errors). Is there a way to plug a chip into a circuit, and have it record all the names and refIDs on that circuit, that you can then pull up on the laptop and use for coding?
