Kinda overwhelmed :/ Thoughts and opinions wanted
So, I've been 'collecting' for at least 5 years, probably more than that, at this point...started collecting from my local thrift. Was buying lego for the kids, then transitioned to buying lego for me, then realized I love SORTING lego much more than building, then, I opened a Bricklink store, which I still run, for fun to support my 'Lego Sorting' hobby LOL.
So my collection is really just, all the minifigs that I 'liked' enough to keep and not resell. I've just been putting them all in a bin.
But I started to finally go through the bin tonight, and just got, kinda lost with organizing, and had to quit for a bit. There's ...... too many. At least 400
I definitely LOVE minifigs and early on put aside the ones I felt drawn to, and most of the Star Wars ones (mainly because they are so colorful whimsical and detailed).
Heres the problem, now thar I want to 'curate' my collection a bit, Im having a hard time figuring out how to who to let go, who to keep, and who to acquire.
I've divided my collection into two groups - StarWars and Non-Starwars.
Anything not Starwars is easy to decide - What I love plus anything over $20 in value, I will keep and display.
StarWars though - I have A WHOLE LOT - at least 30-40 of figs that are worth anywhere from 3-10 bucks, Im torn on whether to keep or 'trade' for more elusive/more expensive SW figs.
HOWEVER I also dont want expensive figs - so anything over about $120, Im not interested in adding to my collection (unless I were to come across a ridiculous steal, like a rare for like $10, but then isn't that all of us anyway LOL)
Would you sell the lower-value figs as a lot and buy someone rarer?
If so, why?
If not, why not?
What if, 10 years from now, a $2 fig becomes highly sought after and goes for hundreds, I would regret letting it go....
But there are waaaaayyy too many low-value SW figs now, I dont think I can keep them all....
What to do
