Medicine Ball Rant

Last week, I had a car come through the drive thru and order "Two venti medicine balls". They pulled up to the window and I proceeded to cash them out and all if they wanted stoppers in them. They said "Oh, no thank you we're going to drink them right now." I nodded and asked them how they're nights going so far. As I'm handing them their drinks they explain that they are VERY sick and that they would highly recommend me washing my hands after they leave. I laugh because...thats crazy and they double down that no they really mean it. They don't want me to get sick and they are VERY sick.

Now, I normally never say anything about people coming in when they are obviously sick and ordering a "medicine Ball" because I don't want to start any trouble but to be so aware and tell me that you know how that affects others...it's just appalling to me. It's so selfish. I told her that she should've stayed home then. I've already come into contact with her and washing my hands now honestly won't do much... she's right in front of me. I explained that we have people who work here that are immune compromise and do their best to try to wear a mask but their efforts can only go so far...everyone needs to be doing their part.

She looked appalled and explained that she needed her tea to feel better. I further explained that the tea doesn't actually have medicine in it and will probably honestly just irritate her throat further with the sugar and the lemonade.

At this point she had her drinks and so I just told her that I hope she feels better soon and to stay home next time she's not feeling well. I told her we have a delivery app if she really needs the tea that badly.

She drove off and I haven't seen her come thru since but of course a couple days later I fell ill. Thank you ma'am, I hope the tea was worth it 🫡
