Sharing my experience with Turo was a guest.

Hello everyone,

I just wanted to share my experience incase someone was thinking of renting a car from Turo. If anyone lives in Chicago you would know the horrible weather we have been having. I pick up the car on Saturday.

On Sunday the car refuses to start. I called Turo and contacted the host through the App. The lady on the phone tries to get me to roadside assistance for "Up to $199". Keeping in mind that its 15 degrees outside so i seem desperate. I am really cold and i fall in the snow twice. Fortunately, A good Samaritan helps me with a jump start. The car still does not start. I spend 2 hours outside until i finally figure out that the Key fob is dead and because of that the antitheft cannot be disabled so the car is basically locked. By this time its late so i call it a night.

The next day i beg a co worker to take me to Walgreens to get batteries for Key fob. I get batteries and the car finally works. The whole experience was frankly traumatizing for me and really left a bad taste in my mouth. Customer service before and after was so unhelpful and i felt like they wanted me to pay because off course it was really cold outside. At one point when i fell i started crying, I was so overwhelmed. All this to say if you can spare it just go with a regular more established company. The stress and the hassle was not worth any money saved honestly.
