How can I mitigate noise from my upstairs neighbors?
I know we’ve all dealt with this at one point or another, but I’m really struggling because I’m getting woken up every single night by my upstairs neighbors
I’ve already tried to have a friendly conversation with them, but they don’t do it. Think they’re doing anything abnormal (they’re really not) but the guys’s footsteps are very loud plus they seem to go to bed late and wake up early
For some reason, also it feels vibrational like the footsteps are extremely loud and it constantly feels like they’re dropping refrigerators on the floor
I really like them a lot by the way and I consider them friends so I’m trying to create a solution here with the least friction possible
I know they don’t have a rug because I did see their apartment one time and they didn’t have one
It would make a world of difference if they moved their bed, so it was lined up above mine instead of being where they walk, but I feel like that’s probably too big of an ask
I cannot move my bed in my room. There’s only one place it can go.
I know I could offer to buy them a rug and I’m curious if that’s the best solution or if I should ask if they would share the cost with me
Is there anything else I can do to mitigate vibration and noise?
I already have 6000 white noise, makers and earplugs and that’s not enough
Not to mention that I can’t wear earplugs every single night because they get infected
Please don’t troll me. I just want good advice of things I can try thanks.
