Oathbreaker question

Im playing for the first time and makeing my first character. Im liking the idea of an oathbreaker who is an oathbreaker simply because he's lazy and stopped caring. He's not evil, he just got tired of fulfilling his oath of vengeance, or whatever. Is that something that can work?
