looking for advice

It's been almost 11 months since my accident with boiling water on both legs. I had superficial second-degree burns, and I'm left with hyperpigmentation that bothers me a lot. I thought about getting tattoos to cover it up. It's just hyperpigmentation; I don't have keloid or hypertrophic scars. My question is whether anyone else has gotten tattoos over scars and what their experience was like. I would greatly appreciate any information or advice.
