Using future flight credit

Would love some advice. Im trying to book flights for my husband and I and apply future flight credits to the reservation but my husbands credit is greyed out on my app. I tried calling and they said we both have to book separate reservations which means he wont receive the benefits of my Premier status.

Im going to try again with a different rep but would love advice from this group or input on if booking separately is truly the only option
