Dollar general spring branch 1751

The store manager that work at this location for 9 years took his own life almost 4 months ago after being degraded,bullied and humiliated in front of his coworkers by his Bosses Tarcell and Karla the Gm of this location . He was told everyday for several weeks/months that he would be fired or replaced on a daily bases . He was told his work was not good enough but for years was constantly pulled to different locations to help out other store an to train other managers . He held several awards (I have pictures) from his hiring date up to 2023/early 2024. The one year he is going through a hard time in his life facing several obstacles he’s threatened that he will be replaced . He asked for his PTO an was told by Tarcell to NOT take any days off (several witness can attest ) so for the last 2/3 months of his life he worked everyday from 7am-7pm . No days off no breaks in fear of losing his job but was at his ends his mental health had taken toll on his life . He was tired,over worked constantly told his work wasn’t good enough despite being called to work in other stores to help them catch up . Karla an Tarcell did see Jack Lopez prior before he took his life an when he asked Karla what could be done or what’s steps to be taken to get back on top (pointed to all certificates) she shut him down an told him they weren’t looking to promote him or old managers . 2 weeks later he took his life July 16,2025. The expectation that the manager had to do all things on his own an work the shifts nobody wanted or couldn’t is ridiculous. They give minimal hrs a put 2 ppl to a shift expecting miracles to worked when this location is high paced work places with lots of foot traffic . Hrs are constantly cut back a the responsibility is solely on the store manager . When they found out he took his life they immediately terminated him form the system making it difficult/nearly impossible for his wife to receive any type of help putting her in a debt all while trying to lay her husband to rest . They did not care for his life dead or alive they got rid of him the moment they knew he was gone an have take 0 responsibility for overworking him to the extent of wanting to take his own life . I do not recommend work for ANY dollar general what so ever they will leave u at odds a replace u without care . Jack was dedicated to his work an to his team an always picked up where it was lacking . He didn’t deserve what happened to him this company is SHIT. He leaves behind a wife and 2 young boys whose questions go unanswered . His wife was also a dollar general store manager a they completely ignored her cries for help and made it impossible to get any answers.
