Burn bridges and start over (and over and over)

Has anyone else ever lost contact with like 40-50 people because of an offhand comment you made without thinking? Like one second okay, next second everyone's screaming.

Oooooo it hurts. It happened like three years ago and it's flaring up again for me since thats quite a few people that you may encounter randomly. "Ohh, you're that person who said...! Great..."

I know a couple people who lose friend groups often. One is completely and directly "We're talking about me right now so be quiet", one asks everyone out, and I don't fucking know whats wrong with me lol.
