Write up, [TX]
After talking with a friend today, who has worked for the same company in the same role for the past 12 years. Ex: cancer treatment. She loves her job and loves helping the patients who go to her for all billing issues and payments. Recently under 6 mos got a new revenue cycle manager, who claims working outside the schedule is stealing time. I can agree to a point, clocking out 5 minutes later because you have a patient in your office and are finishing up. Anyhow, this manager also wrote her up for clocking in 3 minutes later to clocking in. This woman arrives at work early, and immediately begins working but can’t clock in because she will be accused of stealing time. So she gets busy and forgets to clock in so has to submit a time change, that was another write up. Employee requested to take PTO, it was approved, however was informed all her work must be completed prior to using her PTO, but she can’t work outside her hours. This is actually the manager of her direct supervisor and he is constantly requesting meetings to discuss behavior, tone, and stealing time. To me she is being picked on. He’s new to this branch, and the turn over is horrible no one lasts more than 6 months in that role. I understand managers should be managing time if there are issues but requiring all work to be done so you can take PTO and within the hours is not possible. Employee feels she has to work off the clock or afraid she will get written up again. Mind you she called in sick one time and got written up for calling in sick. Mind you she worked there 12 years, same office, same role and has tons of managers but none like this. Is this manager whom I assume has a chip on his shoulder or is picking on her and trying to push her out. Even to blocking her request to transfer to other offices and positions. How has HR not stepped in and will they? Is someone like this power tripping over 3 minutes? Mind you the doctors and the patients praise her and have sent in letters to the company regarding her. For reference: Female 55 year old Hispanic. Cancer treatment facility Texas Manager has been reported to HR on several occasions but no action.
Is this bullying or harassment? What can she do? 12 years is a long time.
