I know I’m probably going to ruffle some feathers with this discussion, but given what we have seen this season, I’m in the belief that this new Wu Lin hero is NOT Lu Bu. But, I strongly consider you all hear me out as I speak my case. Since it will make sense once you understand the context.

So, we all know that the new hero skin looks really interesting. However, one of the things I find extremely fascinating, is that Prince Yi is based on someone from the Three Kingdoms, much like Zhi. But unlike Zhi, who is based on Cao Cao, this new skin is based on one of the most revered and beloved figures of the classic; Liu Bei. Now, I know what you all are thinking “How does this impact the chances we are going to see Lu Bu in For Honor??”

Well, let’s look at the following:

1. Lu Bu never, and I mean NEVER worked with Liu Bei, sure he did seek refuge with the noble lord after betraying Dong Zhuo for Diaochan; but he betrayed Liu Bei by stealing his city.

2. Lu Bu’s loyalty, for a time, was with Dong Zhuo; Not Liu Bei. As the new hero skin is based on Liu Bei, it wouldn’t make sense for the new hero to be Lu Bu given the context of the season and its inspiration.

3. We see the peach tree in Qiang Pass. And it is featured prominently in the menu. For anyone wondering why this impacts the chances we see Lu Bu, let’s look at the connotation of it. The Peach Tree was the very tree that Liu Bei, along with Guan Yu and Zhang Fei swore an oath of Brotherhood together.

4. We also see that this battle is against both Zhi and Yi, who are basically Cao Cao and Liu Bei. If it were Dong Zhuo vs Yi or Zhi, then it would make sense to have Lu Bu come next title update.

Now, with that said, who do I think is the new hero?? Well, with everything we know and are likely to learn about this season. I say there is someone I really think would be a huge contender for this slot; Zhao Yun.

Zhao Yun, though not one of the people in the Peach Tree Oath, was a huge friend of Liu Bei and was extremely loyal to him. He even became one of the Five Tiger Generals due to his loyalty and his sense of righteousness. That, and he saved Liu Bei’s own infant son during a battle against Cao Cao’s own army! It would make perfect sense for the new hero to be based on, or possibly be Zhao Yun as a result.

Now that you all have heard what I have to say, what do you all think? Do you think the new hero would be Zhao Yun? Lu Bu? Or do you think someone else should be the new hero? Let me know in the comments below!
