Afraid of Negativity

Hi everyone! I hope this is allowed here but I just wanted to ask how y'all deal with negative comments about your appearance? I've always loved goth music but just the last couple of weeks I started expressing myself with goth fashion. I'm 23 and I'm scared that my childhood friends/family are going to say mean things to me. I'm also worried that other goths will call me a poser since I just started dressing more alt/goth in adulthood. Please give me any and all advice on this! Thank you!!
