How can you rip people in need off and not feel anything.

I don't get how people can scam others and not feel anything. I'm in need and I shared my gofundme. Someone contacted me to go on fiver and get a freelancer to share my gofundme. Me thinking ok if it's helped you why not. I created it to get financial help and or a share just to live. I'm in severe disabling pain(back injury) among other things, cannot work or be physical at all, can't be up too long and I'm only getting worse. My legs have been giving way and not working more and more lately. Well on top of that due to a break up I've lost my family, house, car, everything not long after moving to qld from Vic. I've had no choice but to come back to Melbourne and start all over. Can't get the benefit, meds/appointments costing around 600 a month. I'm not even supposed to be able to work according to specialists. I've a suitcase of clothes and that's it. Zero to my name. Anyway this freelancer then started requesting 190 payment to start.(wouldn't of done a gofundme if I could get money) Then started being real pushy for payment, the guy that directed me to fiver then started asking same questions as to have you paid yet. I noticed they started calling me dear/friend. So I pasted everything into chatgpt and asked to do a search. Turns out they were the same person in a team of scammers from Nigeria. Not knocking any race or anything but I am knocking the people doing it. How? Just how can you do that to people when they're in there darkest hour, desperately needing any type of help??? I don't get it. What has this world become??? It's so sad. Anyway I just wanted to tell my story and ask everyone to be careful as they probably would of kept going asking more and more.
