A couple days ago was the anniversary of the passing of my first ever rat Miss Kitty, I’m so glad I adopted her and her sister Mimi after I had a dream about a closing pet store giving everything away for free and two female rats were all that was left so the store owner showed them to me and one was brown and one was white and I felt like I loved them a lot instantly so when I woke up I knew in my heart I wanted to adopt rats and started my research that day 😂

3 mos later I find a breeder and he only had two rats left, then when I was leaving the breeders place with them I got stopped by an elderly woman asking what was in the carrier and she told me all about the many rats she had over the decades and how she’d bring them to the school she was a teacher in and one of her past students then walks by and recognised her and then told me all about the classroom rat stories. Weird stuff but from then I was convinced the universe wanted me to join rat gang and I’m so grateful Mimi & Kiki were my first loves and my strange dream came to fruition 🥲🩷🩷

Kiki passed in 2019 from a rare and very aggressive form of breast cancer but she received a certificate of bravery and recognition for her contribution to cancer research after her vet sent slides of her original mass to breast cancer researchers for humans who were very intrigued by it as it was so unusual and nothing like what they’d expect for cancer. Another vet sent her a thank you card and treat basket for letting him study the mass 🥲 she was such a wonderful character and even knew how to do a gator death roll on her chicken wings or drumsticks 😆 during our morning at the movie house she made sure everyone knew who she was and everyone that was grossed out ended up cuddling with her and had their minds changed on rats, a couple folks became rat parents months later and are fully committed to rat gang years later 🥲 ❤️

Remembering my first rat, Miss Kitty. She was a lil movie star (literally)🩷
