Passed my PMP today — Above Target in all 3 domains!!! My 4-week study journey + exam format
Just wanted to share that I passed my PMP on the first try with AT/AT/AT. Big thanks to this subreddit — seeing everyone’s journeys really helped me stay motivated.
Study timeline
- Started: Oct 21
- Exam: Nov 30
- Studied for 4 full weeks
- ~1.5h on weeknights + 6–7h on weekends
Resources I used
- Andrew Ramdayal 35h course → very helpful
- Third3rock Notes → my favorite resource - HIGHLY RECOMMEND
- PMP & Pocket Prep apps → good for mindset
- Andrew’s 200 hard YT questions
- PMI Study Hall (HIGHLY recommend)
- Mock scores: 68%, 74%, 75%, 70% (80% w/o expert)
Bonus: Day before the exam, I watched Mohammed Raman’s YouTube videos — especially the mindset ones. HIGHLY recommended.
Exam question format (very similar to Study Hall)
- Mostly scenario-based questions
- A few simple multiple-choice
- ~6 drag-and-drops
- ~2 agile graph questions
- No calculations
- Not long to read — questions were clear and straightforward
Exam day
My exam was at 10am. Woke up at 7:30, had breakfast, slow routine, went out to buy a matcha and walk a bit. (I’m in Canada — it’s basically winter already — it was -8°C, which helped wake me up 😅)
Then… disaster. The Pearson VUE app refused to open on my computer.
I tried everything. Contacted support — they told me someone would email me “ASAP” and that I’d probably need to reschedule… My stress level was THROUGH THE ROOF.
After 30 minutes of failing, I grabbed an old laptop I never use… And somehow, it worked.Started the exam at 10:30, already shaky, and honestly super stressed for the first hour. But made it through!
Takeaways
- Start Study Hall early — it’s the best tool for learning PMP mindset.
- Focus more on mindset than memorization.
- Don’t panic if things go wrong on exam day (easier said than done 😅)
- You absolutely can pass in 4–5 weeks if you’re consistent.
Good luck to everyone studying — you’ve got this! 💪 Write to me if you have any questions :)
For the record, I am a Project coordinator working in the Healthcare IT, in a hybrid environement.
