Constant fear about what happens to my kids if I die – is this normal?

Advice Request

I’m a 30M. Before I got married, I was never really afraid of death. I lost my grandparents and several aunts and uncles when I was young, and growing up, I kind of accepted that death happens… it never really felt scary.

But since getting married and having kids, I find myself constantly overthinking about what would happen to my wife and kids if I died. I’m the sole breadwinner, and this thought has become paralyzing lately. I feel exhausted just from worrying about it.

Do other adults experience this too, or is it just me? How do you cope with these fears without letting them take over your life?
