Should I Send the Company an Email About my Internship?
(REPOST) So I (M20) am looking to do my first ever summer internship once my spring quarter ends in college. I’m really looking at two specific companies and the one I’m referring to is much closer to me.
This is a big MNC corporation where their American headquarters happens to be in the town next to mine (15 minute drive max), and this would be an incredible opportunity for how close it is as I still live at home.
I’m thinking about my resume and application and I worry it seems kind of bland (no long standing job history, mainly volunteer work and clubs, basic skills mentioned like public speaking and an “eagerness to do research”). Would it be weird to send an email to the company for a look at an internship application?
I don’t know how these things entirely work, so excuse my naivety as I’m only starting to really put my foot down in work/career experience.
I am also expected to give a 2 hour long interview some time during January, so maybe hold off on it?
Thank you.
