Far Cry 4 Co-op Issues

I've been trying to get Far Cry 4's co-op to work all day and have had no luck. My game always crashes upon finding a host, and nobody can join me without also crashing. Same thing happened with the person I was trying to get into a game with, nobody could join them and they couldn't join me. I've tried dozens of troubleshooting tasks that I've seen recommended and none of them have worked.

Does anyone here know what my problem might be? I don't even get an error message. I find a game, I go to the loadiing screen, and then it freezes and crashes. Is it something to do with my wifi's cofiguration? I have a direct connection too if that matters.
