Upgrading from 6.50 to 9.60

Hi guys i have a question and hopefully the nice community here can help me out.

I’m currently on fw6.50 and have BDJB and Y2JB all setup. Im thinking of upgrading my firmware to 9.60 and use Y2JB only. Is the process just downloading official 9.60 firmware on my usb drive and update from there? With this, i will retain all my games and Y2JB setup is that correct?
