A6000 - geolocation when uploading to Android (used to have it!)

I have realized that since a few years back my photos uploaded to Android don't have geo tags. They used to have it, and there is a bunch of old photos in my Google Photos that have the location pinned. I was using "PlayMemories" app before, now it's "IEM". Wonder how I got the location before - what would it set as a pin when uploading? Accessing my phone's location history? I don't think it's even available to external apps

But then, how to enable it again? I miss it so much... It was so nice to open Google photos and browse by location...
