Give me your opinions on in-utero purchasing

Not sure if I’d ever go that route but I have been seeing some ads while window shopping. Curious about people’s options on it. Seems like a risk as there could be issues post birth that you can’t see until birth, like leg conformation issues that will require splints. I would also assume you can’t do any genetic panels until birth and would just have to go off the testing results of the dam and sire. The only benefits I can see is getting a foal with good lineage at a potentially cheaper price, and being able to make payments until birth and/or weaning. Seems risky so why do people do it?
