Break pad issue

Now I’m probably dumb, but I have bought 2 separate types of disk break pads, they look identical to the ones already on the bike and when I lay them on top of each other they are the exact same size. The old breaks fit, obviously. But none of the new ones will fit. What am I doing wrong here?
