He just wants to die

My dad is done. He is confused most of the time, sleep is completely disrupted, incontinent, needs help with all ADLs, hallucinations and agitation controlled by meds. He doesn’t want to be here, and just wants me, his daughter, to sit with him and hold his hand. There’s no way out but through, and it’s just so hard to be here for and watch. He’s ready to go, he says, but his body keeps chugging along. If you’ve been through this, how did you cope with the daily sadness?
