Restraining/order of protection - Unites states - Upstate New York

I live in upstate NY. Been married to my wife for 12 years. Have a toddler. She is extremely abusive. We both are from India and are on visas. We have been in the US for over a decade and a half.

Physical, verbal, emotional abuse. She constantly rants every single day. Has hit me. Charged at me. Passed death threats at my family. Will say she will stab and kill my parents. She thinks the entire world conspires against her. She will look at innocent situations and make a mountain of a mole hill. She thinks every action anyone does is to get back at her. She has thrown porcelain plates down and has moved hysterically in our home. I have everything on video. All this abuse happens in front of our toddler

I am planning to get a restraining order and temp custody against her. Can anyone tell me for how long will I get a protection order. I am hoping for 6 months minimum. I don’t have the money for divorce now. I am looking at atleast 50 grand for divorce. We have a house together mortgaged.

With my audio/video evidence do I stand a chance for a long protection order. And know she will accuse me of everything under the sun. She doesn’t have any proof coz I haven’t done anything wrong. I am hoping to stay away from her for a while to get some breathe back
