I’m hoping I don’t have breast cancer
The worst fear I have is getting breast cancer mainly because of the symptoms I’ve had over the years. I started first fearing about getting breast cancer back in high school when I was 15 years old and now I’m 22 years old. The initial symptoms I had were nipple eczema and my nipples were basically dry to the extent that (the next part might be too much but I’ll say it anyways) part of the skin would come off and stick to my bra. The 2nd thing I noticed was changes in my breast which started from my left breast to my right breast. I noticed that my nipple color turned darker and the nipple texture looked kind of different. I noticed that these changes started occurring in my left breast then my right breast. I also noticed that my left breast is softer than the right. The other symptom I had was lumps in my armpits. Again it started in my left armpit than happened in my right armpit. And I might be paranoid but the armpit lumps seemed to match the description of cancerous lump. I still have those lumps in my armpits which haven’t disappeared. And I also experienced flat nipples (not inverted though so it’s not as big of a deal).
I never addressed my concerns about breast cancer to my doctor but I did mention my nipple eczema and lumps to my doctor and they didn’t see it as a big issue.
The biggest symptom I have right now worries me a lot. Like my biggest fear is that possibly I have breast cancer and it metastasized.
I’ve been dealing with ongoing issues with parasthesia and facial numbness which I initially thought was due to my vitamin deficiency and changing my diet to pescatarian but it’s not apparently. I went to multiple doctors and a neurologist about and they couldn’t figure out what it was but they told me it’s not a big enough issue and my neurologist told me that they don’t think it’s a tumor (no scans were made btw I just told them my symptoms). I also did multiple blood tests over the years and my doctors said I was completely fine (they didn’t think it was anything life threatening).
That led me to worry about having breast cancer again because I have these symptoms predominately on the left side of the body which is the place where I feared I started having breast cancer. To specify the symptoms I have right now, I have head pressure on the left side of my head, facial numbness left side of my face, paresthesia (tingling around my body that doesn’t go away), and left side breast heaviness (sometimes pain). The tingling in my body progressively got worse over a year and now it’s just something I deal with normally.
Like I wish I told my doctors sooner about my fear of having breast cancer because idk if I do have it and it might be too late to do anything. The reason why I never brought it up is because my family members thought I was too young to have cancer and told me that I would’ve been dead if I had it so I kept believing them.
But the fact that I have these symptoms that won’t disappear is concerning to me and I’m hoping they’re not life threatening. I have to wait until next month to see my doctors about my symptoms and I’m hoping it’s nothing bad.
