Day trip to see snow recommendations?

We live in the mid-peninsula and my toddler daughter keeps talking about wanting to see snow for the first time.

Any recommendations of somewhere we can go to on a day trip to see some snow and not stay overnight? We’re talking about a little play area and not like a ski resort necessarily (though if it’s feasible, sure).
