Cloud Backups? Not fast enough.

For about a month I have been testing with cloud backups of my security camera footage. The thought process being that if somebody broke in and took the UDM, then literally they have just taken the footage of them stealing. I have looked up other articles on Reddit and people said that they use Homebridge and have the footage stored in iCloud. I have also been using the OneDrive archiving function. 

The issue with OneDrive is that it only seems to archive everything except for what was recorded in the last hour. I just set up the iCloud recording today, and I went to test it. How I tested it was simply walking in front of the camera and, then a couple seconds later going and unplugging the UDM. And still there’s no record anywhere that I was even there. 

I know that cameras are not meant for security prevention, but they are meant for peace of mind. And my peace of mind is totally gone if somebody steals the centrally located footage. Because then there is no footage to handover
