I've always felt like Diamonds are Forever would have been better with Roger Moore, and likewise A View to a Kill with Timothy Dalton

If I could I would shift things over to give Roger Moore Sean Connery's last and Timothy Dalton Roger Moore's last. Diamonds was never going to be one of the great James Bond films, but Sean Connery's visibly disinterested performance really does drag it down a lot, and the overt camp doesn't suit his take on the character, whereas I think Moore's lighter touch would have given it enough buoyancy to at least be entertaining. Similarly, and even setting aside the fact that Roger Moore had clearly aged out of the part, I think A View to a Kill is trying to split the difference the groundedness of For Your Eyes Only and the fanciful tone of Octopussy, and the result is an awkward mismash, but perhaps with Dalton's gravitas, the filmmakers might have had to commit to a more serious tone, which I think would have been to its benefit.

What do you all think?
