Burning springs deathclaws

I haven't played consistently for about a year, only jumping on here and there. I live in Ohio so had to check this out. Shortly after crossing the bridge I run into a deathclaw trainer and 6 rust deathclaws. I am lv 545 and am vamp speccd. And without power armor, one swipe took me out. When I got back, they took like 300 shots each with a gatling laser.

Did they up the HP on mobs? Or just an update thing?
