Need Help Finding This Book!!!!

When I was in elementary school I read this children’s mystery book featuring two detectives which I believe were animal characters. They were a father and son duo if I recall correctly. The book cover featured the two detectives with a villain in the shadows with what appeared to have a gun in his hand. If anyone can help me find this book from my childhood it would be greatly appreciated!!!
