Gifts for my Father in Law that has EVERYTHING!
My father in law has a very unique job- he cleans out storage units and estate sales, and sells the goods at auction. He’s constantly coming across all kinds of furniture, jewelry, and electronics. Because of his job, I believe he looks as material possessions as their monetary value and doesn’t really see the value in having “things” (despite hoarding items that he can’t part with because he plans to sell them on eBay).
Every year, it’s so hard to find something to gift him. His kids usually gift him alcohol because they also can’t think of anything to give to him, and it’s become sort of a running joke. I feel like he no longer enjoys this gift.
A little about him- he’s in his late 50s, lives in the Midwest, and is very close to his mom (matriarch of the family). He has 3 adult children, and 1 grandchild who is around 1 year old. He has one dog, and his daughter who lives with him has a dog. He’s married.
In the past, we have gifted him restaurant gift cards, a Carhartt hoodie, and heated gloves for when he snow blows.
I’m seriously at a loss. Any advice will help!
