Given that Sheldon had accelerated intelligence from infancy, he's really had an extra almost 15 or 18 years longer than his peers to study his field, most people have a childhood and adolescence before they go to college and concentrate on their chosen topic, it seems he is not smarter than any other physicist and that his intelligence has levelled out
