Just got asked if I had a tampon! Do y’all stay stealth around new friends you make or not?

So I made a few new friends recently this past month that I have been hanging out with like once or twice a week. I honestly assumed it was pretty obvious I am trans though I don’t talk about trans stuff much, but still one of them asked me today if I had an extra tampon they could use. Which 1. is kinda awesome but also 2. am I suppose to tell friends I am making that I am trans? Should I like not mention it ever or do I just mention it someday or what? Like I don’t think they would not be supportive or anything but I could see people getting frustrated if I don’t state I am trans though and they find out after knowing me for like a year or something.
