**The club from Beira was fined 816 euros.**

The Taça de Portugal has once again offered an unusual episode off the pitch. Tondela was fined €816 by the Disciplinary Council of the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) due to the presence of Estrella Galicia beer advertising during their home game against Caldas in the most recent round of the competition.

The situation was reported by the FPF delegate, who, during an inspection of the pitch, identified several advertising panels in the second row referencing the beer brand. The problem is that this brand is a direct competitor of Sagres, the official sponsor of the Taça de Portugal, something prohibited by the competition's regulations.

"Upon inspecting the pitch, it was found that in several locations in the second row of advertising, advertising for a beer brand – Estrella Galicia – was installed and displayed, competing with one of the competition's sponsors – SAGRES Beer; The statement reads: "The field director of the home club – António Carmo – was asked to cover up the aforementioned advertisement for that beer brand. He was told that they could not do so because it was advertising for one of the club's main official sponsors, and was even clearly visible on the team's game shirt."

"Despite the field director being alerted to the regulations on this matter – that advertising for brands competing with the competition's sponsoring brands could not be installed and displayed – he maintained his position, and the advertising for that brand was not covered up in the locations of the second advertising row where it was installed and displayed." Despite being warned about the regulatory impossibility of displaying advertising competing with the official brand of the competition, Tondela maintained its position. As a result, the advertising remained visible and the fine was eventually issued.
