Why Do Relationships Feel So Stressful for Me?
I need a final opinion on this—on what I’m feeling and whether others feel this way too, or can help me understand what it means. I’ve been communicating with a woman I have feelings for, and I’ve noticed a pattern. I’ll connect with her, feel happy and comfortable, but the feeling doesn’t stay consistent. I start worrying that the person will change on a dime, or I’ll become anxious.
I constantly worry. I can be flirting, thinking about her, and showing it, and in the moment it feels like I’m getting closer to her. But then I start thinking it’s normal for everything to change right away. I don’t find myself relaxing or staying relaxed long-term, and this causes me to feel stressed constantly.
I’m starting to conclude that maybe I’m not built for connections. I don’t understand how people enjoy relationships or end up in one. How do you know when you’ve found the right person? All I’ve known is that relationships with people feel so stressful.
