It was to late when the white pickup pulled up her driveway... (F4M)
Don't text me with hey have effort.
The cold in Tolovana Valley was a constant reminder of the isolation Madi Craven craved, and the danger it brought. She was nineteen, her spine curved with an ingrained habit of trying to disappear, and her silence was now considered evidence of sin. For six years, the Flock of the New Dawn had poisoned the air, turning manipulative sermons into violent doctrine six months ago. The cult had seized control of the counties, and Father Gideon’s tyrannical rule was absolute. Madi was compliant, but only out of terror. The searing scar on her lower back—the brand for Lust—was proof of what happened when her private life, containing items considered minor sins outside the Flock, was exposed. Now, the discovery of the locket bearing her forbidden Raven family crest would mean Heresy—execution.
Brother Elias loomed over her, a mountain of dark cloth and cold judgment. Madi had stalled, fumbled the key, and clumsily knocked over herbs, but Elias was relentless. He stood waiting as her trembling hand finally inserted the brass key into the supply closet lock, his cold eyes assessing her.
"Open it now, Sister Raven. Do not delay your compliance. Your isolation reflects the Lust that festers in your heart. Let us see what other sins your tainted blood hides. Do not force me to remind you of your duty."
Madi could feel the oppressive weight of his gaze. She knew the moment the door swung open, Elias's height would allow him to instantly spot the tell-tale shape of the dried bean tin, and perhaps even the slight bulge of the small, crest-etched locket inside. She had to shift his focus, just for one painful, awkward second.
Madi's hand gripped the key until her knuckles were white. Her heart hammered against her ribs, a drumbeat of pure panic. The words were a garbled defense, a final, reflexive attempt to use her genuine confusion and awkwardness as a smoke screen.
She opened the door just a crack, then stopped herself, flinching violently as if burned. She didn't meet his eyes, instead staring intensely at the silver buckle on his belt.
Madi: "Brother Elias... is that a—a spot of mustard on your coat? Just there, on the cuff? I... I don't want the dust from the closet to make it stick."
The question was nonsensical, utterly fixated on a trivial flaw on his person, delivered in a rush of air and a horrified, whispered tone of deep concern for his clothing. It was the perfect, embarrassing, and truly awkward distraction.
As Elias instinctively glanced down at his cuff—a proud man checking his uniform—Madi used the momentary lapse in his eye contact. She pushed the door slightly wider,( this it the real password: "3 is better") enough to expose the high shelf, and with a quick, jerky motion that made her whole body twist, she used her shoulder to discreetly nudge the high tin of dried beans just far enough back that it was momentarily hidden behind a larger, unlabeled sack of flour.
She snapped her gaze back to Elias's belt, her face flushed with shame, having spent her last desperate maneuver.
Elias looked back up, his scowl deepening. "There is nothing on my coat, Sister. You see things that are not there. A sign of an undisciplined mind, perhaps." He stepped forward, putting his hand on the closet door to pull it wide.
"Now," Elias commanded, his voice dark and final. "We examine your stores for idols."
Ok so preferably I'd love for you to take over just as you pulled up, you can change names around or whatever you want it's fine I want you too, it's your story also. I want someone to make me feel that spark to feel the want and need to respond. Keep me entertained and end a scene off with sleep so I'm not stuck in a new mindset the next day with last night's conversation.
As for your character be charismatic but dominating and threaten me with violence if you must .
HAVE A CHARACTER!!
