Dealing with trauma

Discussion

Hi again y’all, I wanted to share my story. Thought this might help me mentally, also really want some advice on dealing with my trauma. So back on May 2nd of this year, I had a really bad reaction to a 25mg THC drink, and ended up jumping from a 3 story balcony. Damaging some of my T12 vertebrae, and sustaining burst fractures at both L1 and L2. As well as sustaining a traumatic brain injury. I was still very much so hallucinating, and really feeling the effects of the THC. I remember a little after landing everything kinda fading in and out, but I very vividly remember screaming “I’m dead”. It also felt like everything in my body was broken, I also thought that I was in hell and that my legs had been ripped off. I remember telling my buddy, “please just call my mom”. I also recall trying to get up, as well as trying to bite the paramedics, and calling them “gay” and “lesbian”. I do recall as well telling the paramedics after they had put me in the ambulance that I had wasted my life. And blacking out, and waking up in the hospital. Thanking God everyday that I’m walking pretty damn normally again, sort of running again, and getting ready to go back to college here in just over a month. Just wanna keep going, grinding, and praying. Hoping and praying for all of y’all, know things are going to get better. Just gotta keep going, and continue believing. In telling y’all all this however, I really want to know/ask. How did you guys deal with your trauma? I’ve been seeing a therapist on a fairly regular basis, but what are some other healthy outlets and or ways in dealing with my past trauma. I constantly replay the events of my accident in my head, especially at night. I just really want to some help with dealing with these things. Thank y’all!
