Applicator question - premarin vag cream

I use the applicator/plunger for insertion, but after I plunge the cream in and remove the plunger, there's about 1/4 inch of cream left. Does that mean I have a short vaginal canal, or is it just a quirk associated with using a plunger in one's vagina?

Btw, I don't have difficulty keeping it clean (although I recently bought extras from Amazon).

I smear the remaining 1/4+ inch on my external bits.
