Soldering Iron trips GFI

My workspace is currently in the garage which uses a GFI for all the outlets. I recently got a Weller 100 watt and it trips the GFI within 20 seconds of being plugged in. Does anyone have a good work around for a scenario like this? There is also a 240 volt outlet nearby I could try to use for conversion if a type of step down transformer could work.
